Fook Lam Moon Dinner Restaurant Review (Kowloon) 1 Michelin Star 福臨門

Rating: 4.5/5 ( well worth the trip)
Atmosphere:  Among all the top notch Chinese restaurants, this restaurant alludes a feeling of exclusivity. There aren’t many tables in the main dining area and the Tables are set quite far apart from each other even in HK top restaurants.

Service: Impeccable. We were served by the Captain. He makes you feel very important and very special. I was so impressed by the Captain, he was able to communicate to us in English, to the next table in Japanese, to the next table in Cantonese, and to the next table in Mandarin. WOW! I whispered to my friend that the people in the private dining room were noisy, and it was as though he could hear me, he went over to shut the door. And I was busy taking photos of the food, he saw that and came over and helped me place the items nicely. I have never experienced that level of service before in any of the restaurants. Cuisine Cuisine came really close but this place is something else.
What to order: Their crispy chicken is the best I have ever eaten.

**Always check for the latest restaurant address as they tend to relocate often.** They have outlets in Wan Chai and TST.

Its also known as the “playground for the rich”. And its not hard to see why.

Fook Lam Moon has many years of history. Its been around for a long time, like 40years or so. Their flagship outlet is at Wan Chai.

We went there for dinner.

Their dinner portions are pretty small. So be prepared to order more.

We ordered the crispy chicken. This is the best dish we had. The skin is so crispy that when you bite into it, you can hear the crunch! There is no trace of fat on the skin at all. It goes to show how much skill and time went into this dish. And its the only time, I have ever finished my chicken skin. The chicken was tender and well cooked. You will enjoy it more if you select the chicken thigh than breast.

Then we had stuffed bamboo fungus with bird nest, served with Kai lan. Its very delicately cooked so the freshness of the food really shows. This wont be your kind of dish if you are a big flavor type of person.

We also got the baked crab shell with onions. I am not a big fan of baked crab shell. I don’t like crab that’s shredded. The one at Ye Shanghai did impress me.

We think their desserts are not bad.
