Amaroni’s Little Italy
My top pick for Italian is Amaroni. Its value for money, the portions are massive!
The Kowloon Bay restaurant food quality is way better than the Hysan Place one. Especially their mushroom risotto, its perfect in Kowloon Bay.
Service was also pretty good.
Shop 1401, 14/F, Hysan Place, 500 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay
Shop 32, LG1, Festival Walk, 80 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong
This place delivers consistently good Italian food at affordable restaurant prices. Unlike Amaroni which is more rustic, its more “fine dining” in terms of presentation.

Cova Cafe & Restaurant
Its not as good as Grappas. I find the food quite average. I went there on a weekend and they had a live band singing which was great! I love live bands. And I think if I opted for the buffet, it will be a good meal instead of going just ala carte.
And they serve great coffee by the way and nice looking cakes to go with.

8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo
They have great fresh tasting pasta and pass up on the rest.

202 Alexandra House, Chater Road, Central District, Hong Kong
I saw it on Michelin bib gourmand and decided to give it a try. There was so few service staff and we feel like we did not get served much. Then, the food was really not Italian at all. I am not sure what it tasted, but it was not how Italian food should taste. I wouldn’t go back again. It should not be Michelin recommended.

The Spaghetti House
This is a chain. My friend say it tasted ok, maybe because his was a classic spaghetti dish. But mine did not turn out as well. The sauce was too much and bordering on paste, its a bit too thick. I was put off. The soup tasted like it came out from can and it was very diluted.

For average quick fast pizza place, that is cheap, it is ok. I was actually enticed by their display of the massive pizza in the front! Sure got me noticed. But as its all premade for a quick service, it doesn’t taste fresh. So its good for a quick cheap bite but not good for gourmet pizzas.
